What is a Flight Pass?

A Flight Pass is a prepaid package of one-way flight credits used for travel within a selected zone or on selected routes during a specific period.

What are flight credits?

A Flight Pass is comprised of fixed or unlimited number of flight credits which can be managed online with ease. One flight credit is required per direction including connections; a normal round-trip is equivalent to two (2) flight credits.

Who Can Purchase a Flight Pass?

A Flight Pass can be purchased by any valid Aeroplan member or Travel Agent via aircanada.com. Please have the following ready:

Will I receive a receipt confirming my Flight Pass purchase?

At the end of your Flight Pass purchase, you will receive an electronic Purchase Receipt detailing the price of your Pass plus applicable taxes.

How do I manage my Flight Pass?

Flight Passes can be managed online by you or your travel agent with ease using your Aeroplan number. To access the Flight Pass, on the AirCanada.com homepage, click on the Flight Pass Tab, and click on Manage Your Flight Pass link, to book, change and cancel flight credit bookings, request online eupgrades or simply see how many credits you have used.

How do I book flights using flight credits?

To book a flight using a flight credit, go to the aircanada.com homepage, click on the Flight Pass Tab, and click on Manage Your Flight Pass link and sign in using your Aeroplan number and password. Select the Flight Pass you want to use and click on Book a Flight .

How long are my flight credits valid for?

The Flight Pass credits are valid for 12 months from the purchase date.

Can I extend Unused Flight Pass Credits?

You can extend your Flight Pass for an additional three (3) months for a fee. The fee depends on the Flight Pass purchased. A Flight Pass extension is available one (1) month prior to the Flight Pass expiration and must be processed prior to the Flight Pass expiration. Please refer to your Flight Pass's Terms and Conditions for the number of extensions permitted and the associated fees.

Can I get a refund for unused flight credits?

No. Flight Passes are not refundable and no refund, in whole or in part, will be issued for unused or forfeited flight credits, nor for their related charges, surcharges and taxes.

Can I book flight credits on United Airlines code-share flights or on any Star Alliance member airline?

No. Flight credits can be used only on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and Air Canada regional partners with Air Canada flight numbers

Can I change or cancel flight credit bookings ?

Yes. Flight Pass booking changes or cancellations must be made at aircanada.com (or through your travel agent). Fees may apply depending on the fare option purchased. Call Air Canada Reservations when flight changes are within two (2) hours of flight departure or outside Travel Agency hours.

Can I standby for an earlier flight booked using flight credits?

Yes. Same-day changes done at the airport, using web check-in or a self-service kiosk are subject to availability and fees may apply depending on fare option purchased.

Will I receive an Itinerary Receipt for flight credit bookings?

Yes, an electronic Itinerary Receipt detailing your flight reservation will be issued upon completion of flight credit bookings. Note: Itinerary/Receipts do not provide an estimated value for each flight credit used.

Can I get a receipt detailing travel costs related to a specific booking?

No pro-rata purchase receipts are issued upon usage of flight credits. However, implied value of each flight credit may be calculated by dividing the total purchase price shown on the Purchase Receipt by the number of flight credits purchased. You can always access that information by clicking on the Print Credit Value Statement link located on the top of the Flight Pass Booking page. This page can be accessed by selecting the Flight Pass used and by clicking on the View button. The value shown is per flight credit.

Can I upgrade to Business Class using eUpgrade Credits?

Yes, eUpgrade Credits may be used to upgrade to Business Class. Please review the terms and conditions of your Altitude Status to see if you are eligible and to review what class of service is needed and how many eUpgrade credits it may cost to do so.

Can I purchase a Flight Pass for my child traveling as an Unaccompanied Minor?

Children can be added as travellers to multi-passenger Flight Passes in the same way as any other traveller or a Flight Passes can be purchased for children between 8 and 11 years of age. If travelling as an unaccompanied minor, Flight credits can be booked online for direct nonstop flights only. You will need to contact Air Canada Reservations to request the Unaccompanied Minor service. 

Can I travel on a Flight Pass if I have special needs?

Flight Passes can be purchased for travellers requiring special needs and flight credits can be booked online. However, you will need to contact Air Canada Reservations following every flight credit booking using the booking reference number to request special needs; Air Canada Reservations will also assist you with any subsequent changes or cancellation of the original booking.

Can Flight Passes be shared by more than one user?

Multi-traveller options are available in certain zone and credits can be used by multiple travellers. Flight Passes designed for one (1) traveller are non-transferable and can only be used by the designated traveller.

I have a Business Class Flight Pass. Can I book flights that do not have Business Class availability?

In the event that Business Class (booking class specified in the Flight Pass terms and conditions) is not available, reservations in Economy class, as well as same day airport standby, are permitted at no charge. If you voluntarily downgrade to Economy class or select a flight operated by Air Canada rouge, you will still be charged a flight credit.
